Mission Goals
Before his Ascension, Christ charged the Church to “Go into the world and proclaim the gospel to
every creature.” Twenty centuries later Pope Paul VI declared, “The Church exists to evangelize” and
Pope John Paul II insisted that “Catechesis is a moment, a very remarkable one, in the whole process
of evangelization.” The forms of this catechesis have varied over the centuries in order to ensure that
the Gospel could be communicated fully and authentically to every culture and every age. Often the
Gospel transformed the culture of the tribe, the kingdom or the nation and in a sense “Christianized” them
so that the instituitions of the culture supported the efforts of the Church to proclaim the good news.
Ministries at Christ the King Parish are commissions to help integrate the many facets of evangelization – worship, service, friendship,
education and stewardship. The five commissions are: Spiritual Life, Human Concerns, Parish Life, Education/Formation and Administration. Commissions
coordinate and assist with all the ministries under their umbrella.
The Christ The King Ministry Schedules are published
quarterly and are set forth in their entirety for Eucharistic
Ministers, Lectors, Sacristans and Altar Servers.
Please honor your commitment to your Church. Should you
find that you are not able to fulfill your assigned ministry, please contact
a substitute. To contact a substitute, refer to the Lay Minister Roster.
Please remember to sign in for each liturgy you are
serving. The sign-in sheets are located in the Sacristan Room (Next to
Adoration Chapel on east side wall on bulletin board). Signing in not only helps the Sacristan to assure that
enough Ministers are present, but it will give you the chance to read any
important announcements posted in the Minister’s Room.
We at Christ The King Parish are grateful to you for your
time, commitment and dedication to not only your church, but to Our Lord
Jesus Christ. Your willingness to serve God and the people of God is a true
inspiration.
