Religion
Christ the King Catholic School exists
to pass on the teaching of Jesus to the children of the Parish, to form them
in gospel values and to help them transform these values into daily living.
Instruction in religious truth and values is an integral part of the school
program. It is not one more subject alongside the rest, but instead it is
perceived and functions as the underlying reality in which students'
experiences of learning and living achieve their coherence and deepest
meaning.”
Reverence, Respect and
Responsibility
These are the distinguishing
characteristics of a Christian: reverence for God and all God’s marvelous
creations; respect for oneself and every other person; responsibility for
one's own life and faithfulness to the persons who become part of it.
Catholic education is justified when these qualities are recognized in the
behavior of students, staff and parents in school, home and community.
Prayer
The school day at Christ the King
Catholic begins with prayer. Students are encouraged to be leaders of
prayer. There is a daily religion class for all students in grades Pre K-8.
The Parish priests, along with Parish staff members, involve themselves in
the school program as requested.
