We Welcome You to Christ the King Catholic Parish and School

CK Parish LogoAs pastor of Christ the King Catholic Parish, I warmly welcome you to our new parish website, and invite you to find in its pages a glimpse of the abundant life and faith of our parish community.

For more than 73 years, our parish has been rooted in the beautiful neighborhood of Beverly Hills on the southwest side of Chicago. Our parish is active, friendly, and blessed with a wonderful spirit of belonging and hospitality. We are home to a wide spectrum of activities, ministries, organizations, and opportunities to grow in the knowledge and love of God.

Christ the King Parish welcomes everyone to share their gifts and talents in the service of the larger community. If you are new to Christ the King Parish, we hope you will find our church to be a joyful place to worship God. If you are looking for an excellent Catholic education for your child, we invite you to consider Christ the King Catholic School and explore the information within this web site. In addition, if you are a long-time parishioner, I encourage you to delve into these pages, and become even more aware and involved in our parish life.

God has been good to Christ the King Parish throughout the years. However, there is much yet to accomplish if the Kingdom of God is to be thrive in this place. The people of Christ the King Parish have remarkable energy, faith, perseverance, and hope. We take seriously the challenge of what our Lord Jesus Christ to be His family, and to live and proclaim the Good News.

Today we will seek to build our future upon the dreams and accomplishments of those who, many years ago, founded Christ the King Parish. We pledge to share their vision and spirit with the next generation of believers.

A Message from Our Pastor

Gleeson Fund Appeal

Every year about this time, I make an appeal for donations to the Gleeson Fund. The Fund has been established to assist families who are experiencing financial hardship to defray the cost of Christ the King School tuition. It is named in honor of our founding pastor, Msgr. Patrick Gleeson for whom Catholic education was such a priority. In many ways it is a revolving fund with the recipients being reminded that while we help them now, they are “on” to help someone else in the future. Thanks to you, this past year has seen the monies available through the Gleeson Fund more than double ($12,500 to $29,200). That is terrific! However, the number of requests has more than tripled (from 4 to 14). The requests for assistance are handled on an individual-by-individual basis.

The Gleeson Fund makes it possible for a number of families who have hit a “rough stretch” to continue attending Christ the King School. Since the general economy is not rebounding, I need to ask you again for your generosity. Please make out your checks to “Christ the King” and be sure to mark your memo line “Gleeson Fund”. You can drop them in the regular collection or stop by the Rectory. Kindly accept my sincere gratitude for your generosity.
